Peyman is a professional bridge design engineer at the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the co-chair of Caltrans Building Information Modeling (BIM) for the Bridges and Structures Committee. Peyman has more than 17 years of experience in structural/seismic analysis and design of different types of structures in both governmental organizations and consultant firms. In collaboration with the different divisions at Caltrans, Peyman leads the effort of implementing BIM methodology for infrastructures and establishing innovative digital project delivery workflow for the life-cycle of infrastructures, particularly bridge structures. Peyman also has hands-on experience in bridge inspections of different types of bridges, especially fracture-critical steel bridges. Peyman got his doctoral degree from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2011 with a focus on performance-based seismic assessment of bridges.
